Lifetime Discovery is excited to offer its guests the option of a gastronomical delight.  Celebrate the magic of Israel's cooking.  This culinary tour is a delicious way to discover the country.  Our specially chosen guides combine love of the country’s history, culture, people and scenery together with passion for cooking and good, good food.  And, as always, the unique and personal "seasoning" of the stew and the brew in this culinary discovery are entirely up to you.

David Intercontinental Hotel | Tel Aviv

Days: 1 2

David Intercontinental is a luxury Tel Aviv hotel near the beach with an outdoor pool (seasonal), spa and health/fitness center on the site. The hotel is perfectly located in Tel Aviv’s trendy, urban Neve Tzedek neighborhood with some of the best shopping and restaurants in the city, and near the business district of Tel Aviv. 

Dan Panorama Hotel | Haifa

Days: 3

The Dan Panorama Hotel, rising twenty-one stories high on Mount Carmel, offers you a choice of spectacular views: one side commands a splendid panorama of the city of Haifa, Mount Carmel and the sea.  Another vantage point presents the huge curve of Haifa Bay and the endless stretches of Israel’s beautiful Mediterranean coastline.

Akkotel Hotel | Acre

Days: 4

Akkotel is a boutique hotel built into the walls of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the old city of Acre. The building is a beautifully renovated historical building that was constructed by the Ottomans and served as an accommodation for the army officers.  Akkotel is the winner of the 2012 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Hotel Awards forthe Middle East region in the categories of service and bargain.

Scots Hotel | Tiberius

Days: 5

The luxurious Scots Hotel in Tiberius was established by the Scottish Church in 2004 in the historical compound of the Scottish Hospital, and uniquely combines the 19th century basalt buildings with a modern and up-to-date hotel of international standards.

Day 1: Tel Aviv-Jaffa

Accomodation: David Intercontinental Hotel | Tel Aviv

You will be met by Lifetime Discovery representative at the Ben Gurion International Airport and arrival formalities are followed by a tour of Old Jaffa, the gentrified Neve Zedek neighborhood and concludes with a stop at the “HaTachana” (the station), the recently re-opened Jaffa-Jerusalem Railway of yore.  The first dinner can be at the Messa restaurant.

Day 2: Lachish wineries and cooking workshop

Accomodation: David Intercontinental Hotel | Tel Aviv

The day begins with a trip to Lachish, the site of biblical winegrowers and once the 2nd largest city in the land.  Wine-tasting will be followed by a light meal at one of the wineries.  Back in Tel Aviv, for the balance of the afternoon, you will enjoy the new pedestrian port area which has an indoor food-market to browse.  In the evening you will participate in a 3-hour cooking workshop and then be free to prowl the pubs and enjoy the Tel Aviv nightlife.

Day 3: Carmel Market & Carmel Mountain

Accomodation: Dan Panorama Hotel | Haifa

After breakfast we will set out to “Shuk HaCarmel” (Carmel open-air market) before driving towards Caesarea, stopping on the way for a workshop in Moroccan cooking for our delicious lunch.  After seeing the sites of the ancient port city we will travel to the Ein Hod artists’ colony and continue for dinner at restaurant “Hanamal 24” (Port 24) in Haifa.

Day 4: Bahai and Buri

Accomodation: Akkotel Hotel | Acre

The day begins with a view of the world-renowned Bahai Gardens and Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by a drive to the port city of Acre.  Lunch will be at Said’s Famous Humus.  Dinner will be fish, at the Uri Buri Fish restaurant in Akko, where the group will stay for the night.

Day 5: Nazareth & the Galilee

Accomodation: Scots Hotel | Tiberius

After touring the biblical city of Nazareth, we will have lunch at “El-Tanur” (In the Over).  Digest the delightful meal during a drive to Zippori and the Sea of Galilee. For dinner, is a 2-hour cooking workshop at Ilan Roberg’s restaurant in Tiberius.


Day 6: Down to the Desert & Dead Sea

Accomodation: American Colony Hotel | Jerusalem

We will leave Tiberius for a drive through the Jordan Valley and a tour of Beit Shean.  Next on the agenda is the Dead Sea, where we will have a “splunch” at Ein Gedi.  Back in the car for a drive to Jerusalem, the city of gold, we will convene at the Cavalier Restaurant for dinner.

Day 7: Jerusalem’s Old City and markets

Accomodation: American Colony Hotel | Jerusalem

The day begins with a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, including the Via Dolorosa and the “shuk” (market).  After a lunch at a local authentic restaurant in the old city, the day continues with a stop at the open-air “Mahane Yehuda” (Yehuda Market). 

Dinner will be at the Arcadia restaurant. After dinner  take a walk on the ramparts around the Old City and a stop at the Western Wall.

Day 8: Last minutes before take-off

Depending on your flight, we may take a short tour of the the Israel Museum, Shrine of the Book, or stop for lunch in the charming town of Abu Gosh, where music festivals take place in the numerous churches before transfer to the airport and departure.
